One of my most painful experiences was when a close friend told me that I was single because I was too choosy. Me? choosy? Am I supposed to accept just anyone? Am I supposed to marry someone I don’t like because I want to be in a relationship by all means? The painful part was that we both prayed hard before her husband came. But I have suddenly become choosy because I was experiencing a delay.
I don’t know what the pain in your heart is but I want you to be willing and ready to tell it all to the Father. We will need your tears and your pain – there is a level of pain that makes you pray without looking at the time. Don’t wait for this book to set you in a ‘prayer mood’, start speaking in tongues now.
A possible thought strolling through
finished university, I realized that these runs girls were getting married to handsome, rich guys! In fact, one married a Pastor’s son! How did that happen? We that were playing the will of God game were still single and these ones were getting married. Did that mean that you can eat your cake and have it? Did that mean you can still catch better ‘pikin’ even though you were a runs girl? I was hurt and honestly, I felt like the prodigal son’s elder brother in the bible.
That drove me deeper into the place of prayer. And I began to pray; Father, reward my faithfulness to you! Make my living proof that it pays to serve God. I cannot call on your name and end up in shame! I need you to focus on God all through this year. Don’t stop praying till you see the reward of your prayers. I know prayers can be difficult when you aren’t seeing the answer to your prayers. But are we going to be wary because of that? No! If runs girls can confess their sins and get it right maritally, then God must settle us too.
They say good men are scarce, why must it be you that will be lacking? They say good women are very limited, why can’t you have access to one of the limited ones? See, you are what you believe! Don’t believe the lie of the enemy in other to get comfortable with your painful situation. Imagine God settling you this year? Imagine God sending supply your way in anticipation of needs you are still envisaging? It’s not about your righteousness, it’s about His faithfulness. It’s not about your degree, it’s about His favor. It’s not about whether you deserve it or not, it’s about His decree. It’s not about your pasts, it’s about His plans. Welcome to your season of settlement!
